Meet the team

Paul started his career in financial services in 1998 and went on to established Kernow Financial Planning in 2007. As an independent financial adviser, he helps individuals with their financial planning, focusing on investments, pensions, protection and lifetime mortgages. He enjoys building up long term relationships with his clients and is proud of the fact that some of his clients have been with him for over 20 years.

Outside of work Paul plays football for Southgate Vets and is also a youth football coach at the club, he follows his children’s teams wherever they go and is a season ticket holder at Plymouth Argyle, he also enjoys cycling and the odd round of golf.

Louise works alongside Paul and supports him with all the necessary business administration.   She manages the back-office support systems and is responsible for overseeing many of our daily activities, directing and co-ordinating actions across all areas of the business.

Louise is married to Paul, and between them they have a daughter and two sons.  She loves to spend quality time with her family and friends.  In her free time, she loves going for long coastal walks and travelling around to support both her sons football teams.

Doug joined Kernow Financial Planning in April 2018 as a Mortgage & Protection Advisor having previously worked as a Teacher.  He is a local Lanson boy, having lived and worked around the town for the majority of his life.  His aim is to make the mortgage process as smooth as possible for his clients and to advise on protection to safeguard their home and lifestyle.

Away from the office, you will find Doug participating in various hobbies and interests with his family.  He has a Sprocker Spaniel that he would describe as ‘crazy’ and needs plenty of exercise!  Doug enjoys activities such as Paddle Boarding, Surfing and coastal footpath walks and is still trying to relive his youth by playing for Southgate Vets Football!

After working in Leisure Management for the last 20 years, Tom decided in 2021 it was time for a career change.  He has always been interested in finance and so during the Coronavirus lock downs took the opportunity to re-train in Mortgages and Protection.  Tom started his journey at Kernow Financial Planning in September 2021, and is continuing his studies to be a full Financial Advisor. Mortgages have been a great introduction to the finance sector for him and helping clients borrow the money they need to buy a new home is really satisfying.

Away from the office, most of Toms time is spent ferrying his children around to their different hobbies, but being honest, there is no where he’d would rather be than with them.  Tom likes to go out for a run to keep himself active and social fishing with friends.
